	Mr C.S. Kataria, General Manager of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) posted at Patiala in Punjab has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000. BSNL GM C S Kataria was arrested by a team of anti-corruption branch of the Chandigarh CBI for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a person in lieu of granting him a tender pertaining to the collection of outstanding dues. The relevant file was also recovered from the office of the General Manager, the CBI said adding that Kataria was being interrogated. His office and residence were being searched.






	RPS Panwar, GM of BSNL arrested by CBI for corruption 19th Sept 2003 R P S Panwar, General Manager of public sector Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), has been arrested by the CBI for allegedly amassing assets over Rs 15 million, disproportionate to his known sources of income. CBI, which had launched searches at his premises and registered a case against him, arrested the official Thursday night, agency sources said today. The sources claimed that the searches showed that the accused possessed flats in Ghaziabad and Moradabad, six shops in Ghaziabad, farm houses in Mehrauli, six plots in Noida, Mumbai and Haridwar and vast agriculture land in Haridwar. As much as Rs 2.4 million bank balance also came to light, they said.
